Atholton Swim Club follows the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Curriculum.

We follow the Learn to Swim Curriculum and adapt it to younger swimmers so please review the curriculum and its philosophies. We do not teach preschool levels. When scheduling classes we group students based on age and level. To determine your swim level for the class, please refer to the descriptions found on page 2 of the graphic to the right. How to Register

**Please do not register for group lessons at this time. Classes for Session 3 are full.**

Register: Fill out the student info form. As part of the form below you will be asked to pick a class level (listed in the Red Cross document). Refer only to the Learn to Swim Levels, We do not teach preschool aquatics. If, after looking at the ARC chart you still have questions about which level to choose you call the pool and talk to an instructor. You may sign up multiple children on the same form if they are all the same type of classes, e.g. all private or all youth group.
Pay for class.
Bring a printed or electronic copy of your payment receipt with you the first day of classes.

Group Classes for Youth

Prices for nine lessons/2 week session:
$120.00* – General Public / non-members
$110.00 – Associate Members

Atholton Swim Club uses the American Red Cross’s Learn-to-Swim curriculum in our Group Swim Classes. The program is based on a logical, six-level progression that helps swimmers about 6+ years old and adults develop their water safety, survival and swimming skills. It is designed to give participants a positive learning experience.

Class sizes are small so instructors can pay special attention to student abilities and needs. There is no minimum age for swim lessons. However, there is a height requirement of approximately 36 inches, to ensure the child can stand in the shallow end comfortably.

Group classes are two weeks long. Sessions run Monday – Friday the first week, and Monday- Thursday the second week. Friday of the second week is used as a make up for inclement weather.

Adult/Teen Swim Instruction

These sessions are customized to the needs of the swimmer. Lessons will be based on American Red Cross’s Learn-to-Swim curriculum. The program is based on a logical, six-level progression that helps swimmers develop their water safety, survival and swimming skills. It is designed to give participants a positive learning experience.

Lessons are available in three ways:

Private Lessons – See Below for information on arranging Private Lessons.
Arrange Your Own Group – Semi-private adult swim classes can also be arranged at the Private swim lesson rates for groups of 1-3 adults, contact the Swim Lesson Coordinator to request a group lesson for your group. Members of the group will share the private lesson cost.

Private Instruction

Prices for a one hour voucher that can be used in customized time blocks:
$120.00 – General Public / non-members
$110.00 – Associate Members
$100.00 – ASC member Price

The sessions are customized to the needs of the swimmer. They are purchased in 1 hour blocks that can be used/taught in 15, 20, 30 minute sessions – your choice!

Private Lessons are scheduled directly with the assigned instructor. Private lessons are not scheduled along with group lessons.

Private lessons vouchers can be purchased online or at the pool after opening day from the instructor. After paying for a voucher you will be put in touch with an instructor to arrange for a schedule of lessons.

Sibling splash: Parents/Guardians of swimmers in the class have the option to pay $5.00 per class to allow siblings to use the baby/toddler pool during swim classes. Parents also have the option to pay $20 for sibling slash for the whole session. Please see a lifeguard of manager and they will add you to our sibling splash!

Make-up days: Friday is used as a make-up day if class is canceled. If more than one day is missed, Friday will be used and your additional lesson will be made up on the following Monday or Tuesday. Make up lessons will be scheduled and possibly be at a different time and with different instructor. Red Cross does require us to teach safety curriculum which can be taught in and out of the water. Instructors may include a safety day on an inclement weather day. Please call the pool if you are unsure about the weather.

Parent info: Parents are welcome to watch the lessons, however they are asked to watch from a distance that is not distracting to their child. Please allow the instructors to interact with your swimmer without distraction.
